Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We are writing to you with love for our beloved Annunciation of the Theotokos Monastery. Due to the impact of the recent hurricanes and storms, our two main Monastery buildings - the Church and the Residence/Workshop buildings - have sustained significant wind and water damage. The storms caused major damage to our roofs, wood siding, internal and external walls, flooring, and HVAC systems. The damage has also caused ongoing water intrusion issues that need to be corrected.
Our response has been to initiate a formal Restoration Project. This project will be completed in two phases. The First Phase consists of urgent repairs that are needed immediately to stop the water intrusion and the continued deterioration of our main buildings. Failure to take proper corrective action will impact our ability to offer Church services for our faithful, and not being able to use our workshops will negatively impact our ability to generate operating income for the Monastery.
The Second Phase of our Restoration Project will include deferred maintenance on the guest house, storage building, Monastery grounds, infrastructure, and equipment. Our goal is to address and to resolve all property issues that have manifested since the Monastery’s inception.
We have received insurance funds and together with available monastery funds, we have approximately $150,000 to begin Phase One roofing, siding, and water damage remediation work in December 2025. We estimate there is a $350,000 budget shortfall to complete all of Phase One work and the subsequent Phase Two work planned for 2026.
We humbly ask for your financial support, which is essential for the successful completion of our Restoration Project.
There are three available options for you to donate to our Monastery Restoration Project:
1. Our online donation link on our website using a Credit Card, Debit Card, or ACH Payment.

3. Securities (Stocks, Bonds, ETFs) for tax-advantaged charitable contributions.
Thank you for your generous consideration, and continued dedication and support of our beloved Monastery.
With love in Christ,
Gerondissa Agapia

benefit from a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). A QCD goes
directly from your IRA account to the Monastery.

do not pay income tax on the transfer. For tax year 2025, the QCD
limit is $108,000 per person.
To initiate a direct transfer from your IRA, please contact your IRA custodian
and provide them with the amount and the Monastery’s account information.
We are able to accept gifts of financial securities. By donating
financial securities directly from your investment account to the
Monastery, you can receive a charitable contribution deduction at
the fair market value (FMV) of your donated securities without
paying capital gains tax on any realized appreciation.
To donate financial securities, please contact the Monastery
for the information your investment account manager will
need to process the security transfer.
Each one must give as he has decided in his
heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion,
for God loves a cheerful giver.
